STGThumb Editor's Review

'STGThumb' is a thumbnail generator and a batch converter. Most of its features are listed on its main window and this make it very easy to use. After you select the 'Start Folder' you have to press the 'Scan' button in order to retrieve the selected type of file which could be videos, images, or both. I recommend you to read the tips at startup because there are many interesting and useful things. The next step is to set the options for the thumbnails. You can set the width and height, the prefix, or you can check the 'Add Watermark' check box. Unfortunately even if the watermark is one of this program's key features there's nothing interesting about it. Besides providing the desired text and select the font and the position you can't do anything else. There are no transparency options or other effects.

You can create thumbnails for your video files. The program will take the first frame of a video file and add your watermark, if selected, to it. You can also create 'HTML' albums or slide shows. If you don't specify an output folder, the start one will be the default one. The user interface is well organized ad very intuitive.

Pluses: Very good batch converter.

Drawbacks / flaws: To few options for adding watermarks.

In conclusion: As a batch converter is a good software but as a thumbnail creator it disappointed me.
